Case Study

New crane procurement

Enspired is currently working for a major infrastructure maintainer to develop a technical specification for new rail crane equipment. Our work has included the development of
the technical specification, respond to supplier enquiries and negotiation support for contract award. Enspired has delivered a technical specification, set out a safety management and approvals strategy, produced a risk register for the project delivery and supported several meetings with the preferred supplier. Enspired’s role is continuing beyond contract award to provide project management and project engineering support to the delivery phase of this project.

Case Study

Viability study on multi-purpose vehicles

Working with technical partners, Enspired provided Project Management, Project Engineering and Project Delivery Support for a feasibility study for a major rail infrastructure operator exploring the conversion of their multi-purpose
vehicles (MPV) to battery/hydrogen power.

Enspired coordinated all workstreams from inception to final report, ensuring the project was delivered to scope, programme and budget.

The study covered route analysis, component market
research, concept design development, site surveys, cost planning and the preparation of a final feasibility report — providing the operator with a clear, structured basis for progressing the conversion project.

Case Study

Freight locomotive hydrogen conversion study

Enspired supported the delivery of a hydrogen conversion feasibility study and concept design for an electric freight locomotive operator in southeast Europe. This was a complex, cross-border project. Enspired provided Project Director and Project Engineer resource to coordinate technical partners across multiple countries, manage stakeholder relationships and drive the work through two distinct phases — from initial viability assessment to a fully developed concept design package.

Working with the technical partners, Enspired took ownership of the project programme, ensuring each workstream was completed on time and to the project’s requirements. The project concluded with a comprehensive concept design package and a clear project plan for the detailed design and
conversion phases.
